For writing with fountain or gel pens, 100–120 GSM works well. For wet media (watercolour, ink wash), move up to 160–220 GSM. Our listings state GSM and a recommended use.
Is your paper fountain-pen friendly?
Our 100 GSM and 120 GSM cotton-blend sheets are tested with Lamy and Pilot inks without feathering or bleed-through. Heavier watercolour paper is also fountain-safe but has a rougher tooth.
Are your papers acid-free?
Yes — all paper sold as writing or sketchbook stock is acid-free and pH neutral, so your journal stays bright decades after binding.
Can I order paper cut to a custom size?
We cut to common signature sizes (A5, A6, B5). For custom sizes above 50 sheets, email hello@spreadandspine.com with dimensions and quantity.
